4th Annual Band Camp 2019
What: Annual Week Long Day Camp. Includes full band rehearsals, sectionals with professional musicians, team building and game time, costume contest, talent show, and a final band concert on Friday!
Who: Rising 7th and 8th Graders for the 2019-2020 school year with at least one year of experience in band
When: TBA - typically 2nd to last or last week of June | 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
(Early drop off for working parents between 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. by the band room)
Where: Central Middle School
Cost: $100 camp fee covers t-shirt, music, professional clinician/musician to work with each section individually, afternoon treats, and lunch on the final day. There will be no refunds made after the May 17. Cash, money order, or check payable to CMS Band Boosters. Place in a sealed envelope with the child's name on it turned in to Ms. Codina in the band room, or mail to: Central Middle School ATTN: Band Camp, 14101 Roddy Rd., Gonzales, LA 70737
Dress: Same as a school dress down day (school appropriate length shorts/skirts, NO tank tops, athletic shoes recommended for activities, etc.).
What to Bring
Schedule *Subject to change throughout the week
Costume Contest: On Wednesday wear your favorite costume! The costume has to be something you can wear throughout the day and play in with no distractions.
Talent Show: Do you have another hidden talent? Maybe you are a piano player, a comedian, can juggle or dance. Sharpen those hidden talents for a talent show on Thursday! Winner(s) will receive some Mustang Band swag and gift card.
Camp Concert: Join us for our camp concert at 4:00 p.m. on Friday in the Gym. Concert Dress for the students will the band camp t-shirt (included in the band camp fee) with denim bottoms.
Music: It will be very beneficial for students to look over the music in the folder and listen to the recordings before coming to band camp.
Rules and Regulations: While at camp students will adhere to regular school rules and any other policies set in place for that week. Students refusing to cooperate with staff, teachers, and fellow campers may be sent home without refund.
Cell Phone Policy: Cell phones will NOT be allowed during sectionals, rehearsals, and activities. Students will be allowed to check their messages during the lunch break. Otherwise, students should be interacting face to face!
